Adam brought Snow to the hospital. Even if the doctor said that she was fine, he still watched the doctor dress Snow’s wound before bandaging it. Only then did he feel relieved.
While he watched Snow get her head bandaged, Ginnie’s pale face also remained a constant presence in his head.
“Snow, I’ll have Leo send you back. I’ll come with you for the follow–up tomorrow.”
Just as Adam wanted to leave, Snow hugged his waist.
“Adam, I don’t want to go back to that cold house. Can’t you stay with me just for tonight? We can sleep in the same bed.”
Adam’s heart raced. He never would have thought that Snow would ask him to stay with her for a night.
They were both adults. They knew the hidden implications behind Snow’s words.
But there was a sense of unease in Adam’s heart, and pain accompanied it.
The warmth from Snow’s embrace made him constantly think about how Ginnie had fallen to the cold, hard ground while she watched him in despair.
In the end, he steeled himself and broke free of Snow’s arms before he said, “I’m going to pretend not to have heard what you said. We’re both married, and Ginnie’s pregnant. I can’t betray her.
“If you have any other requests, you can come to me at any time, but I won’t allow myself to cross the line when it comes to this!”
When Adam flung her arms away, Snow fell back down on the bed. As she watched Adam leave, she fisted the bedsheets.
On the way back, Adam ran into the dessert shop Ginnie loved.
The last time he had bought desserts for Ginnie was when Ginnie went alone to the hospital to have her arm checked. While he was on his way back with Ginnie, he ran into Snow and got out to “buy desserts” for Ginnie so that he could have a quick date
with Snow.
Adam was not a soft–hearted person, but even he started to feel like he had let Ginnie down.
Forget it. At the very least, he had not divorced Ginnie yet. He would keep her company until she gave birth, then give her more of the company’s shares as compensation.
Adam bought a whole bunch of desserts and went back home. The moment he got in, he started calling out to Ginnie.
“Ginnie, look what I brought back!”
But the woman who would usually run out to meet him immediately did not show up.
Adam went to their bedroom but did not see her.
Instead, he felt that a lot of things had gone missing from their house.

The dolls he created with Ginnie, their photos, and the decorations Ginnie bought from all over the world for their house were
gone.
Adam’s heart went still for a moment before he quickly took his phone to call Ginnie.
But right then, sormething on the living room table caught his attention.
When he drew closer, Adam froze.
The thing in the jar gave off a faint, bloody smell. Picking it up, he found that it was an undeveloped fetus!
Under the jar was an abortion agreement with Ginnie’s signature on it.
Shocked, Adam stumbled backwards. He only managed to steady himself by using the wall as his support.
Did Ginnie… get an abortion?
But she had always longed for a baby! How could she have the heart to abort a child born from their love?
Had she figured something out?
Adam did not dare think too deeply into this. He could not handle the consequence of Ginnie knowing the truth.
While enduring the pain in his heart, he picked up the second item Ginnie had left for him on the table.
That was an old photo.
Once he saw what was on it, Adam’s surprise was so great that he almost forgot to breathe.
Was this not the photo he had taken with the girl who helped him overcome his grief after his mother passed?
That girl had even given him a painting of a sunflower she drew.
She taught him how to always look forward to the future and not be defeated by a temporary setback. It was the painting and her
words that saved him from taking his own life.
But he remembered that the girl in the white dress was Snow!
Why would Ginnie have this photo?
With trembling hands, Adam brought the photo to eye level and scrutinized it, only to find that the girl was clearly a mini-
version of Ginnie.
So, all this while, the person he had been looking for was right beside him and had loved him wholeheartedly?
Did he reunite with the wrong person?
Adam fell to his knees and screamed brokenly.
This could not be true. How could he be so foolish as to think that Snow was his savior just because she loved wearing white

dresses? He had even hurt his true love for his false savior!
He immediately brought his phone out to contact Ginnie, but in his panic, he called Leo, his assistant.
“Mr. Grant, bad news! Mrs. Grant got into an accident!”
