ARIA’S POV
Before I can finish my shift, my phone rings, and I see it is Regis calling. I am filled with anticipation, convinced that he is calling to congratulate me about my new post. With excitement, 1 answer the call, and the positive energy radiates through the mobile
connection.
Regis asks me how I am doing and how is work going. I don’t tell him anything on the phone and also, it will not look nice to do so. Hence, I tell him that everything is smooth.
“May I have the pleasure of inviting you for dinner tonight?”
Since departing from Regis‘ place, our talks and moments of togetherness have dwindled. There is a yearning within me for those meaningful and warm exchanges we once had. So, when he extends an invitation, my heart leaps with joy.
“Absolutely.”
A genuine smile playing on my lips. His mention of the restaurant and our planned meeting after work fills me with anticipation. and a sense of connection. He is my mentor with profound knowledge and I love his company.
As I step into the restaurant, a wave of warmth washes over me, both from the gentle lighting and the cozy ambiance. Soft,
golden hues cast a comforting glow over the tastefully decorated space.
The air is filled with a symphony of enticing aromas, teasing my senses and hinting at the culinary delights awaiting within. Plush seating beckons invitingly, promising a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience.

Regis rises from his seat with a gentle grace, a warm smile lighting up his face as he approaches me. With a tender affection, he presses a kiss to each of my cheeks, a gesture that speaks volumes of his fondness.

I chuckle at Regis‘ statement. Does he think that Adam cares about me so much as to plan something and get me back? Well, he
did tell me to come back, but I know it is only for me to stay in his company while he marries his mistress and enjoy his family
life.
“I work with my brother in his firm now and have no plans to return back to Miller Corporation.”

I make it clear to Regis that I cannot be bullied by Adam any more and I see that Regis smiles back at me, believing in me.
As we enjoy our meal and engage in lively conversation, the atmosphere is relaxed and jovial. However, the mood takes an

His confession hangs in the air, a weighty silence settling between us as he reveals that he has been harboring feelings of love for

“Now that you’re divorced, I can tell you how I’ve always felt about you.
