As soon as the Hartwells. Amelia and Vince exchanged a smile.
“How was it? Satisfied with the outcome?” Vince asked, a playful glint in his eyes.
“Satisfied! We make a great team!” Anchia cxclaimed, her excitement bubbling over.
She jumped up from her chair, but her injured leg gave way, and she stumbled. Vince, who was leaning on the chair, instinctively reached out and caught her securely in his arms
Their bodies pressed close, her soft lips accidentally brushing against his cheek.
Time seemed to freeze. Amelia felt a wave of heat rush through her body, turning her into a statue.
Just then, a nurse entered the room with a creak of the door. They quickly let go of each other and moved apart.
“Amelia, you can now proceed with your discharge, the nurse informed her.
“Okay, I’ll be right there, she replied hastily.
She stood outside for a while, waiting for the redness in her cheeks to fade. After completing the discharge procedures, she found Vince still in the ward, a casual smile playing on his lips.
“Since you’re discharged, let me take you home,” he offered.
Amelia had moved back to her pre–marriage apartment in the old downtown area in the east of the city. The environment was far less pristine than the small villa she had shared with Theo, but it was her only home.
Vince look a quick tour of the apartment–two bedrooms and a living room, modest but clean and well–maintained.
He strode into the bedroom and opened the wardrobe, revealing a few lonely pieces of clothing hanging inside. He had never known a woman’s wardrobe could be so sparse and modest
Sierra’s clothes, on the other hand, would fill an entire floor.
A crucial
question suddenly occurred to him. “What are you planning to wear to the Eponix Group party?”
“I haven’t decided yet,” she admitted, realizing she hadn’t given it much thought.
When she had left her marital home, she had only taken a suitcase filled with valuable items. As for clothes, she had only packed a couple of basic outfits and a coat. She didn’t have anything suitable for formal occasions.
Seeing her troubled expression, Vince guessed the answer. He closed the wardrobe. “Come on, let’s go shopping. Consider it a celebration of your discharge.”
Amelia glanced at the time—it was exactly 10 p.m. “Most shopping malls will be closing by now?
“That’s not a problem,” he assured her.
Everything felt surreal. With just one phone call, Vince had the entire shopping mall, which was about to close, light up again just for them.
Staff lined up at the entrance, welcoming them with a grandeur Amelia had never experienced before. It was like a scene straight out of a TV drama, playing out in real life.
Vince shopped with swift efficiency, selecting exquisite evening gowns, top–tier jewelry, designer bags, and shoes. Everything suitable for her was presented to her.
His tatte was impeccable. Each item chosen with elegance and a hefty price tag.
Amelia stood in front of the mirror, momentarily dazed
She was wearing a rose red dress dut hugged her figure perfectly, accentuating her curves. The pearl–encrusted bodice and the gold–threaded hem rijded an opulence that was almost blinding-
She looked radiant, a mix of elegance and vibrancy, yet she felt a bit uncomfortable.
She had always been reserved, and alar rarely wore such bold and flashy outfits, especially after getting married, when her style became more subdued and umple
