Chapter 23
Vince was a man of low profile, rarely seen in public. It was only in recent years that he emerged, founding Gust & Glow Entertainment and catapulting Sierra to stardom.
Though Gust & Glow Entertainment had few artists and was modest in size, the glory of the Hollow family name ensured it was not to be underestimated.
The same went for Vince. Though he wasn’t currently a front–runner for the family’s top seat, no one could predict the future.
So, when they found themselves face to face, Vince swallowed his pride, his face a mask of appeasement. “Mr. Hollow, I didn’t expect to see you
here.”
Vince’s face bore a cold smile. “Is this how you apologizer With your fists? Mrs. Hartwell’s requests are not unreasonable. You’re all smiles and agreement now, but who knows what you’ll do behind her back once the hype dies down and things are settled.”
As his words hung in the air, Theo’s fist clenched, and he took a step back, his momentum deflated. Vince had hit the mark. He had no intention of sincerely apologizing, only biding his time until the storm passed to strike back,
Victor frowned, his dignity wounded. He tried to laugh it off, but the sound was hollow. I’m a man of status, he thought. Why am I tiptoeing around this youngster?”
He straightened, his voice low and commanding. This is a family matter, Mr. Hollow. Please do not interfere.”
Suddenly, Vince moved to stand behind Amelia, his arms resting on her chair, enclosing her in his embrace. “Her affairs, my business.”
His warm breath tickled her car, and her heart fluttered with warmth.
Then. Vince’s tone shifted. “And there’s still the matter of my artist’s injury. We need to settle that account”
He leisurely pulled out a thick stack of papers from his bag. placing them in front of the Victor and Theo. Itemized on the sheets were various compensation fees.
“The artist’s health is their most important asset. Sierra is in his prime, and thanks to your
rson’s push, he’s sprained his ankle. All his shooting schedules have been halted, delaying his work. I trust you can pay this amount promptly.”
Theo was livid, his cheeks puffing our. The humiliation was too much.
He hadn’t meant to push Sierra. He was forced into it. Besides, it was just a little push. Was the woman made of glass to demand such a large compensation he complained.
Just as he was about to explode, a woman’s shrill scream echoed. “I finally found you. I was so scared. Don’t leave me again!”
Ivy rushed in, her steps small and hurried. Tears streamed down her face, iser helplessness palpable.
Though being a shameless mistress, she had been sheltered by Theo, naive to the world’s cruelty. Today, cornered by reporters, then publicly abandoned, she was overwhelmed with aggrievement.
Theo didn’t embrace her. Instead, he maintained a safe distance. “How did you know I was here?”
“Someone… Someone sent me a message.”
He felt uneasy, but it was too late. Reporters, who had tailed Ivy, eagerly shoved their cameras into the ward, capturing their discomfort.
Victor’s face turned a mosaic of red and pale, reflecting the rapid fluctuations of his emotions. “Gepthem out!”
He had lived half a lifetime and never been so humiliated.
Theo had no choice but to drag Ivy out, desperately trying to lure the reporters away.
Finally, the ward quieted. Victor sat, finally catching his breath
Suddenly, a cold voice cut through the silence
Trad, just agree to all of Amelur’s conditions. We owe her that much”
Standing in the sunlight, the young man’s brows were kitted, a sense of desolation and melancholy about him. Dressed simply in a white shirt and black pants, he was striking, his cold expression commanding respect.
