Chapter 6
I had an appointment with the real estate agent in the afternoon.
When I brought them inside, Regina was still asleep in the master bedroom.

I didn’t bother waking her. Instead, I told the agent to check out the place freely, but just to avoid the master bedroom.
The apartment was in a prime location, right in the heart of the city, with everything conveniently nearby. It was practically
brand new, barely lived in, and renovated with high–quality materials.
The agent gave me a solid offer. It wasn’t a huge loss, so I agreed on the spot.
I couldn’t stand being here another second, but someone clearly wanted to stay.
Regina eventually emerged from the bedroom and saw me sitting in the living room, discussing paperwork with a group of men.
She frowned. “Lisa, what’s going on?”
I ignored her and continued talking to the agent. “Once the contract is signed, I’ll be out within three days. You can come by then
to check the place and pick up the keys. I’m leaving everything in your hands.”
Regina’s face twisted in shock. “You’re selling the apartment?”
I glanced at her. “My apartment. Got a problem with that?”
Her stomach dropped.
Panic flickered in her eyes as she grabbed my arm. “But this is your marital home with Tyler! How can you just sell it like that?
Where are we supposed to live?”
I pulled my arm free and corrected her. “Where I live has nothing to do with you. And where do you live? Not my problem. If you need a place to stay, go beg Tyler. He’s the one who wants you.”
Regina’s panic deepened. She must’ve been thinking about everything that had happened the night before.
Quickly, she shook her head. “No, you’ve got it all wrong! There’s nothing between Tyler and me. If you’re misunderstanding, I swear it’s not what it looks like! Please, don’t sell the apartment. I promise I won’t be a bother to you…” (1
