Just then, urgent footsteps echoed at the door.
Jay rushed in.
Without a word, he grabbed Camille and pulled her away.
She struggled briefly, but upon recognizing him, she suddenly sneered. “Oh, wow, Tracy. How long has it been? And you’ve
already hooked up with someone else?”
Her mocking gaze swept over Jay and me, and then she loudly declared, “I told Dennis a long time ago. You never cared about
him! Look at this–someone is already stepping in for you, and he still didn’t believe me! This is your true nature!”
Jay furrowed his brow, standing in front of me. His voice was low and calm. “Miss, please show some respect. This is a place for children to learn. If you want to cause trouble, do it somewhere else. Don’t scare the children.”
Camille paused, but quickly regained herself, her face twisting with disdain. “Who do you think you are? What right do you have
to lecture me?”
I ignored her and focused on calming the children. I gently pulled Brian and the others closer, whispering, “Don’t be afraid, I’m
here. Everything’s fine now.”
Camille glared at us, and it seemed like she could no longer hold back. She suddenly swung her hand. “Tracy, do you think you’ve won? You ruined me! I won’t let you off so easily!”
While Jay was protecting me and reassuring the children, more hurried footsteps approached from the hallway.

“Tracy!” A familiar voice, trembling with barely contained emotion, rang out.

I looked up. Dennis stood at the door, his strides long and determined as he rushed toward me. His eyes were fixed on me, as if
afraid I might vanish the next second.
His expression was complex–surprise, regret, and deep self–reproach all mixed together.
“You’re alive. Thank goodness…” he murmured, his voice rough and cracked, as though he had lost all his strength in an instant.
Camille’s eyes flashed with a calculating light as she saw him. She intentionally pushed her belly toward Dennis, her voice laced with feigned grievance. “Dennis, she hit me! I just wanted to understand why she’s been trying to destroy me, but she
embarrassed me in front of everyone…”
She gritted her teeth, her voice choking with fake sorrow. “Dennis, look at this–she’s bullying me, and I’m pregnant…‘
I stared at them coldly, as if everything from the past had come rushing back, those moments of being constantly ignored and
excluded flooding my mind.
But this time, I held myself together. I took a deep breath and spoke calmly, “You both should leave. You’re not welcome
here.”
