Chapter 10
Rebecca’s POV
“Rebecca, I understand now, you’re just getting back at me! But I promised I’d make you my Luna. Why can’t you just wait for me a little longer…”
“You know Elara’s mother is lying, so why didn’t you tell me the truth? If I had known the truth, would everything have turned out like this?” “And I sent Dean and the others to follow you. If you hadn’t been speeding and shaken them off, how could you have been kidnapped?” Even now, he still thought everything was Elara and her mother’s fault.
But the true culprit was him!
I scoffed.
“I did tell you. You just didn’t believe me. As for why your beta lied, maybe you should ask him yourself.”
Jonah seemed confused for a moment, then his face twisted in pain.
He finally remembered–I’d told him I’d been kidnapped by Elara’s mother, and I’d also mentioned she was just pretending.
He immediately called Dean, and after being questioned, Dean hesitated before admitting that it was Elara’s orders to stop following me.
They hadn’t expected it to end like this…
Jonah immediately expelled Dean and the two warriors from the pack.
He tugged at his hair in anguish, trying to explain himself, trying to make things right, but after a long silence, no words came.
Finally, he muttered:
“Why? How did we end up like this…? We were so in love, and you were going to marry me, no matter what…”
He watched me and Evan walk away, then couldn’t hold back anymore, collapsing to the ground, clutching his head and sobbing.
A man who still couldn’t see his own mistakes wasn’t worth my pity.
The only pain left was for the six years I’d wasted on him.
I thought Jonah would finally give up. But the next day, he showed up at my parents‘ house, begging for their forgiveness.
He knew I listened to them.
If Travis hadn’t intervened in time, my mom would’ve known her daughter had been almost disabled by him.

When Evan and I came to have lunch with my parents, we happened to run into Travis dragging Jonah toward the trash can. He shoved him onto the ground with force:
“You never got over Elara, yet you strung my sister along!” Travis snarled. “You don’t appreciate what you have until it’s gone. Who’s buying this pathetic act now?”
Jonah dropped to his knees–just like when he’d once vowed to cherish me forever.
But this time, no one believed him.
He crawled toward me on his knees, tears streaming down his face, begging for another chance.
Before I could speak, a disheveled woman rushed through the security guards, holding a knife and stabbing Jonah in the back:
“Jonah! You’re heartless! My mom sacrificed her life for us, and you still want to sever the mate bond with me! I’ll tell you this: In my world, there’s no rejection–only death!”
Blood splattered all over her face, but she didn’t seem to notice.
Evan, worried I’d be frightened, quickly picked me up and ran toward the house.
Travis, worried my parents might see the bloody scene, also hurried inside.
Just before the door closed, Jonah was furiously fighting back against Elara.
Later, I heard from pack members that both of them had been rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.
They both survived, but Elara lost the use of her hand–it couldn’t even hold a bowl anymore.
Chapter 10
Jonah’s lung was pierced, and he spent a full month in the hospital before being discharged.
At that point, I learned that Elara’s mother, unable to accept the fact that she was going to prison, had chosen to take her own life in a moment of fear.
Before she died, she left a letter, asking Jonah to take good care of Elara.
But in the end, her last wish could never be fulfilled.
Jonah decided to sue Elara for intentional injury, ultimately severing the mate bond with her.
Travis, concerned I might be upset hearing these things, encouraged me to let go of the past and focus on building a life with Evan.
I threw a pillow at Travis, laughing:
“Yes, Alpha. Now go find yourself a Luna!”
Evan, returning from pack business, joined our playfight–turning it into a two–against–one battle.
