Chapter 3
Rebecca’s POV
As he spoke, he mind–linked Dean and told him to send someone to keep an eye on me, just in case I caused trouble.
Then, without another glance at me, he hurried off with Elara to the Moon Tree.
I watched them descend the stairs hand in hand, and I didn’t miss the smug, triumphant glint in Elara’s eyes–nor Jonah’s question:
“Elara, did you bring the silver knife?”
This wasn’t just a performance for Elara’s dying mother. It was a show meant for me.
Before the warriors Jonah had summoned arrived, I rushed to the bridal shop to pick up my wedding dress.
It was a custom–made gown I had specially ordered from Italy for the day I’d marry Jonah. But since I’d lost a little weight recently, a few areas needed to be taken in.
To my surprise, the shop assistant looked at me in confusion and said,
“Mrs. Fisher, Alpha Jonah already picked up the dress a few days ago. He even brought a girl with him to try it on. I wasn’t the one on duty that day…”
Watching the color drain from my face, she practically lunged for the surveillance monitor.
There, on the screen, was Elara–wearing my dress–walking slowly toward Jonah, who looked completely stunned by her beauty.
“Jonah, do I look beautiful?” she asked softly.
Jonah’s face lit up with a smile I had never seen before.
“Beautiful–more beautiful than I ever dreamed,” he said.
“Pinch me, Jonah,” she whispered tearfully. “Let me know this isn’t a dream. For years, I could only become your Luna in my dreams…” Tears poured down her face.
Jonah leaned down, tenderly kissing every tear from her cheeks.
“Silly girl,” he murmured. “Thank the Moon you came back in time–any later, and I might’ve made someone else my Luna.”
The shop assistant, clearly embarrassed by the passionate kissing couple in the video, apologized to me awkwardly:
“I’m so sorry, Mrs. Fisher. That was our mistake… I’ll find an excuse and get your dress back right away.”
But it was obvious—my mate had cheated, and my dress had been stolen.
Fuming, the assistant picked up the phone and called them immediately.
As soon as she mentioned me, Jonah snapped,
“Did Rebecca send you to get the dress? Tell her we’ll return it once we’re done. No one’s stealing anything from her!”
I couldn’t believe how shameless he was.
If I no longer wanted him, why would I want a dress tainted by Elara?
The assistant, still holding the phone that had just been rudely hung up on her, awkwardly offered compensation, but I knew who was responsible. I forwarded the original invoice to Jonah.
Within seconds, he called me.
“Rebecca, what’s your problem? We just borrowed the dress! And now you want me to pay you for it? You should be grateful it got worn more than once -makes it more worth the price!”
But when Elara murmured about “keeping it as a keepsake,” he hung up and transferred the money.
“We’ll be holding the mating ceremony soon. Just rent another dress for the day, alright? No need to waste money,” he added.
After six years of loving him, I realized for the first time… I’d never really known Jonah at all.
I looked at his shared location on the couple’s app–he was still at the Moon Tree.
I thought it would hurt, but I felt… nothing.
Chapter 3
Just as I turned off the location sharing, Dean showed up with two warriors.
“Luna Rebecca, as long as you don’t cause any trouble, we won’t restrict your movements,” he said.
Dean, who used to treat me with such warmth and respect, was now speaking politely but looking at me with clear disdain.
I didn’t bother wasting my breath on this spineless pack follower. After packing up at the pack house, I drove home.
But when I reached the underground parking lot, the automatic barrier wouldn’t lift for my car.
The security guard checked the system and told me,
“Sorry, Luna. This parking space is now registered to a different vehicle.”
After scanning the code again to enter the underground garage, I saw a new car parked in my usual spot.
It was the car Jonah had promised to give me two months ago.
But now, the person getting out of it was Elara.
