Once the call ended, Jaycie opened the web page again to see how far the situation had escalated. Seeing all the malicious comments, she couldn’t pretend that she wasn’t upset

What bothered her, though, was how these people had once looked down on her, thinking she wasn’t good enough for Cole because of her supposed poor background. Now that everyone knew she was the daughter of Housleton’s wealthiest family, what gave them the audacity to team up with Eileen and smear her name

She coldly took screenshots of every single one of those offensive comments. Just when she was done, her phone rang again

It was an unknown number. She hesitated for a moment but decided to answer

Jaycie, are you okay? Don’t pay attention to what they’re saying online. I know you didn’t do any of those things. There’s no need to be upset. I believe your parents are already handling it. If there’s anything I can do to help, just let me 

know.”
