Chapter 8
“I think that was really Lena,” Christopher’s face turned ghostly pale.
“That’s nonsense, that was the daughter of the Kingsley family… the Kingsley…” Timothy’s voice suddenly trailed off. “It’s
impossible… I’m Lena’s only family.”
They took their seats, only to see Hayden gently helping me toward Jacob’s side.
The smile on my face seemed to stab at their hearts!
“Do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband…”
“She doesn’t!”
“I object!”
Before the officiant could finish, two voices rang out, completely out of place!
I cast a brief glance in their direction. Hayden and my parents looked visibly upset.
Even though I didn’t speak up, they had noticed something was off with me these past few days.
A little investigation revealed the pain and frustration I had suffered over the years.
The expressions on their faces were unpleasant when they found out. All the investments they had made into Lewis Group were
supposed to be a sign of gratitude for looking after me all these years.
But to their surprise, these two dared to stir up trouble at the wedding.
“Get them out of here,” Dominic growled at the security guards.
I smiled faintly, not paying much attention to the disturbance.
The wedding went on as planned, and the officiant asked the question again.
