Chapter 61
Gregory’s steps paused briefly as he turned slightly to look at Fiona.
“If you don’t love her, let her go.” Fiona let out a breath and bent her back slowly before adding, “I’m begging you.”
The once–famous lady of Castenea was now lowering herself to a younger man for the sake of her daughter.
“Well?” Fiona asked.
Maybe if Gregory and Anathea got a divorce, it would put an end to this five–year mistake. That way, Gregory wouldn’t torment Anathea any longer.
Fiona just wanted Anathea to have a better life, nothing more.
Gregory didn’t respond. After a few seconds of silence, he simply pulled open the door and left without looking back
At that moment, Natalie was being wheeled out of her ward and happened to see him. “Greg!”
Gregory acknowledged her with a brief response but didn’t slow down.
“Where are you going?” Natalie asked, but Gregory didn’t reply as he walked away. A trace of confusion flickered in Natalie’s
eyes.
Just then, two nurses pushing carts passed by.
“Did you know? The lady in the room across from us is actually Mr. Sinclair’s mother–in–law!”
“No kidding! Things got really heated earlier–they even got physical!”
“But I have to say, I saw that lady’s daughter today. She’s stunning. Even as a woman, I kept stealing glances at her. I had no idea she was Mr. Sinclair’s wife!”
“Shh! Mr. Sinclair has always kept his wife’s identity a secret. We’d better not gossip. We could get in trouble!”
“Yeah, I know. But why is Mr. Sinclair keeping his wife a secret? Is it to protect her? That’s so thoughtful and romantic.”
As Natalie listened to their conversation, her brows gradually furrowed.
“Mother–in–law? Anathea’s mother? And now, because of that woman’s outburst, Anathea’s identity as Greg’s wife is exposed?” Natalie thought, her hand slowly clenching on her lap.
Meanwhile, not far away, two doctors were counting medications.
“These two vials need to be stored carefully. One of them is for Mrs. Jacobson–it plays a crucial role in surgery, as it will improve the success rate significantly and aid post–op recovery. Because of its potency, the entire hospital only has two doses. It’s extremely valuable, so we can’t afford any mistakes.”
“Got it. Don’t worry!”

Though they weren’t speaking loudly, Natalie still caught the gist of their conversation.
“Increase success rate and aid post–op recovery.” She glanced down at her own legs, a contemplative look flashing in her eyes.
When Anathea arrived home, she felt even colder than before, and a wave of weakness washed over her.
“You’re b
back, Mrs. Sinclair!” Jenny greeted her cheerfully. “The kitchen staff had a huge fish delivered today, and Tom is
preparing a ten–course fish feast. Would you like to try some later?”
Anathea originally wanted to say she had no appetite, but when she saw Thomas‘ expectant gaze, she nodded. “Alright.”
Dragging her weary body, she prepared to head upstairs.
A car engine rumbled outside, and a moment later, Xander’s small figure dashed through the door. As soon as he saw Jenny, he
uttered brightly, “Jenny!”
“Mr. Xander, why are you back so soon?” Jenny laughed, catching him as he ran up to her.
“Jenny, I’m starving. I want to eat something.” Xander rubbed his belly, blinking up at her.
“That’s perfect! Tom’s making dinner right now. You’ll be able to eat soon.”
But when Xander saw the fish Thomas was preparing, he immediately shook his head. “No! I don’t like fish!”
“Um…” Jenny hesitated.
Just then, Xander spotted Anathea heading upstairs, and his eyes lit up. “I want Mom’s tomato and ham risotto!”
Anathea always made the best food for him.
“But you weren’t very nice to her last time, Mr. Xander,” Jenny reminded him softly.
