“You love me? Ha, if you loved me, would you have stayed with another woman while your own father was in a critical condition? Would you have hit me on your father’s funeral and told me to kill myself? Would you have left your father’s funeral prematurely to go to another woman?”
I took out my phone as I spoke and played the phone recording out loud.
Everyone was shocked. They all looked at Brian.

He stared at me coldly.
I needed to save myself in this life!
I had to get rid of him!
In the end, Brian agreed to the divorce, but a thirty–day cooling–off period was required for the divorce to be finalized.
I remembered the last thing that Brian told me with a smile. “Lindsay, there is a thirty–day cooling–off period. I believe you’ll
change your mind.”
I escaped and rushed to pack my important documents and clothes while he was away.
“Lindsay, where are you going?”
Brian hung a jacket onto the rack and walked toward me with a smile.
He looked like a demon straight out from hell.
I secretly took out the pepper spray that I had purchased to protect myself.
“Brian, we were married after all. I don’t want this to end badly. The reason why I wanted to divorce you is because you don’t love
- me. I’m even willing to walk away without anything!”
I did not want to anger him. It would not do me any good.
“Don’t you want nothing because you feel guilty? Dawn died because of you, so how could you dare to ask me for anything?”
He glared fiercely at me. I really could not understand his twisted perception of the world.
“I’ve never met Dawn or talked to her! Now that she’s dead, you’ve got no one to blame, so you blame me! Isn’t that ridiculous?”
“No! It’s all your fault! If it weren’t for you, Dawn wouldn’t have left me! If you didn’t ask me to come back, I would have been there when Dawn had a breakdown, and she wouldn’t have died! It’s all because of you! My dad and Dawn died because of you!
And now you want to leave? I won’t allow it!”
His face was twisted. He was insane!
