Chapter 38
Damon:
I walked toward my office, my jaw tight, my mind a storm of frustration.
I needed to get away from the commotion that was going around the park and I knew that I was going to need my peace of mind if I was going to be able to maintain and manage anything that was going around me.
Lysandra was pushing my limits. Again.
And she was not going to stop. I knew that.
At this point I found myself regretting the idea of telling my man to bring her back. I expected her to be easier. I expected things to go a lot smoother. Little did I know was that she was planning on playing this game a little more difficultly than I thought she would
I had barely stepped inside when the door was shoved open behind me.
I exhaled sharply, already knowing who it was before I even turned around.
I had already caught her scent and was well aware that she was following me. And not only was she following me, but she was following me for trouble. She was following me to argue. As if I needed the headache.
Lysandra stood in the doorway, her face flushed with anger, her hands clenched into fists at her sides.
“Are you serious right now, Damon?” she hissed, stepping inside and slamming the door shut behind her. “You’ve been roaming around her, sitting with her, staying in her room for hours and for days now, and I haven’t said a word. It’s been weeks since the two of us have spoken, and now, rather than speaking to me, rather than standing by my side, you choose hers?”
I sighed, rubbing a hand over my face. “I don’t have time for this, Lysandra. If you are here to argue about this then trust me when I say you’re not going to get anything out of me. I have a lot to deal with and if I’m staying with her. It is because she is the mother of my daughter and my daughter is staying in her room. I have every right to be spending a little time with her, don’t I?”
“Make time!” She snapped. “Because I just saw you defend her. Again. If you want to spend time with your daughter, might as well call her over to you. She does not have to be in the same room with her. You don’t have to be in her own bedroom, the old bedroom that she grew in. You did not even put a stop to the fact that she was living in your same house. She could have went back to her family villa. Why did you allow her to stay here, down the hall where you are staying, where your room is?”
I turned to face her, keeping my expression cold. “I didn’t defend anyone. I stopped you from making a scene in the middle of the damn house. There’s a difference. What I do, what my pack members do and where they stay does not concern you, Lysandra”
“Adi
She let out a bitter laugh, crossing her arms. “A difference? You don’t even see it, do you? You don’t see how things are affecting you, do you?”
I narrowed my eyes. “See what?”

“How you look when you talk to her. How you sound when you say her name. How do you soften whenever she’s around? You don’t see all of that, do you?” Lysandra shook her head, her voice trembling with anger. “You act like you don’t want her here,
but you can’t stop yourself from stepping in whenever someone so much as breathes in her direction.”
I clenched my jaw. “I stepped in because you were picking a fight over nothing. And as I said, she is the mother of my daughter if I
am going to allow anyone to harm her…”
“Nothing? Do you really believe that I’m harming her right now? If I want to harm her, I’m going to do a lot worse than what I am.” She echoed, her tone full of disbelief. “That nothing is the woman who ruined everything! And yet, she’s here, living in our
home, carrying your name on her child, while L.”
She stopped herself, her chest rising and falling rapidly, her anger bleeding into something deeper.
