in that house? Poor
thing! Her fiancé took advantage of her deafness to fool around with another woman while she was around.”
“Look at that! Do you guys see how he has a red lipstick mark behind his ear? Don’t tell me he was with his lover right before the
wedding?”
Noticing how the power source for the screen was buried underground, Wales came to the conclusion that someone had
meticulously planned everything in advance. He ordered his bodyguards to cut all the cables in the vicinity while he continued to look around anxiously for me.
He was terrified that I would learn the truth.
Wales had an inkling that I was the one who planned all of this, considering I told him that I had a surprise waiting for him during the wedding. But he quickly dismissed the idea.
I was an invalid who was deaf and crippled. Why would I come up with the idea of installing cameras around the house to

broadcast his actions at the wedding?
Wales pulled out his phone and tried calling me. He could vaguely hear the ringing of my phone echoing from behind the
entrance.

My phone had a unique ringtone. It was my favorite song, and Wales had sung it to me when he proposed. Later on, I asked him to sing the song again so I could record it and use it as my ringtone. I never changed it afterward.
But it was too noisy in the hall. Other than the guests who were busy discussing the sudden turn of events among themselves, Wales was also surrounded by reporters who were tripping over themselves to make him the headline of the news.
“Silence!” Wales yelled furiously.
Silence blanketed the hall, making the ringing of my phone echo clearly around the hall.
Wales could feel the telltale signs of tears beading at the corner of his eyes. He walked toward the entrance and threw the doors open. He thought I would be there, but instead, he was met with the sight of my corpse lying motionlessly in a crystal coffin that was surrounded by fresh flowers.
A staff approached him and said to him somberly, “Mr. Price. Your fiancée, Ms. Hertza, took her own life two days ago.”
Infuriated, Wales shoved the staff to the floor and shouted, “Who sent you? Not only did you ruin my wedding by broadcasting that video, but now, you want to trick me into believing that my wife killed herself? I just talked to her not too long ago!”
The staff got back to his feet. He didn’t look the slightest bit angry and shot a small smile at Wales. He repeated in a questioning tone, “Not too long ago?”
His choice to throw Wales‘ words back at him made guilt build rapidly in his chest, and he quickly avoided the staff’s eyes. Wales recalled that the last time he spoke to me was indeed two days ago. He had chosen to carry Anna away while leaving me a bleeding mess on the road.
In the last two days, he had been so occupied with fooling around with Anna in the new house that he hadn’t bothered to reach out to me. Even on the day of the wedding itself, he had left me to get to the wedding venue by myself.
Wales found himself at a loss for words. He lifted his head and examined the corpse of me in the crystal coffin. He didn’t want to believe it at first, but after studying the facial features of the corpse and noticing the small mole at the corner of my eye, he had no choice but to accept the cruel reality.
Wales collapsed onto the floor, like a puppet that had its strings cut.
“Joey,” he murmured my name over and over again.
