Chapter 6
Silas mistook Eros’s concern for disdain, eager to seize any opportunity to look important. He boasted, “I’ve seen her. Not only that, but I also gave that woman a lesson.”
“Mr. Ferrari, I don’t know how she managed to anger you, but I can see she pushed your buttons,”
“Don’t worry; from now on, I’ll handle these little problems for you.”
Eros’s face darkened, his expression sharpening with fury. “What did you say?”
Without warning, he grabbed Silas by the collar, lifting him off the ground with an ease that spoke of his strength.
“Where is she? Where is Alora?” Eros’s voice was thunderous, full of rage.
Silas’s face drained of color. His words faltered, “Mr. Ferrari, I…”
With a sharp, immediate motion, Eros threw Silas to the ground.
The stunned crowd quickly parted, revealing me huddled in the corner under Elvira’s iron grip.
She remained unaware of the chaos that had just unfolded, focusing on keeping my mouth
shut.
The moment Elvira saw Eros approaching, she immediately sprang into action, her voice sharp as she spat, “Mr. Ferrari, this slut came to beg my husband for money.”
“Please, don’t let her ruin everything we’ve worked for…”
Before she could finish, Eros’s hand shot out, slapping her hard across the face.
Elvira screamed in agony, clutching her cheek as she tumbled to the floor.
“Husband.” My voice broke, trembling with the weight of my emotions as tears flooded my
eyes.
Eros’s gaze darkened, his eyes reddened with fury as he pulled me close, his arms a shield against everything.
Elvira, still dazed, whispered with a shaky voice, “Mr. Ferrari, is she your family? I’m sorry, we didn’t know…”
But Eros didn’t let her get another word out.
With a flick of his wrist, his bodyguards surged forward.
In an instant, Silas and Elvira were dragged to the corner, their mouths silenced as they were beaten mercilessly.
The rich businessmen stood still, frozen in silence, their eyes nervously shifting toward
- me.
Some tried to slip away, but Eros’s voice sliced through the tension like a blade.
“Everyone stay put,” he commanded coldly. “No one leaves until I get to the bottom of this.”
Panic swept through the room, their faces drained of color.

When Silas and Elvira had been tormenting me, they weren’t the only guilty ones. Every one of these men was complicit and none of them were innocent.
A few of them tried to backpedal, their minds racing to distance themselves from the chaos that had unfolded.
But under Eros’s cold gaze, their resolve shattered. One by one, they collapsed, dropping to their knees in desperation.
They lined up, offering their apologies, their voices trembling in fear.
I remained silent, my eyes blazing with fury as I glared at them.
Eros’s expression remained as cold as ever, his gaze unwavering, indifferent to their pleas.
The businessmen, realizing the hopelessness of their situation, grew more anxious by the second.
Then, one of them raised his hand and slapped himself hard across the face, a sickening sound echoing in the room.
The others, seeing his self–inflicted punishment, followed suit, their hands connecting with their faces with cruel force.
Eros and I stood like statues, watching the scene unfold with cold detachment.
Half an hour later, the businessmen’s faces were unrecognizable, swollen, battered and bruised from their own hands.
Finally, Eros spoke, his voice cold and commanding, “Enough.”
The businessmen, their faces swollen and their spirits crushed, slapped themselves twice before they ceased.
They wept, their gratitude pouring out like a desperate plea, but Eros didn’t even spare them a glance.
Instead, his eyes shifted to Silas and Elvira in the corner, both beaten and unrecognizable.
Eros’s gaze locked onto Elvira, his voice ice–cold as he asked, “Are you ruined your shoes?”

Even now, battered and broken, Elvira refused to admit defeat.
With a false sweetness, she replied, “Mr. Ferrari, I don’t believe Mrs. Ferrari did it on purpose and I never intended to place blame on her.”
