“Mr. Ferrari, you must be exhausted after your flight. Please, we’ve prepared some coffee
for you.”
“Mr. Ferrari, I’m from Mitchell Group. We’d be honored to have your support.”
“Mr. Ferrari, this is a token of appreciation from our jewelry shop for your wife. We hope you’ll accept it.”
Everyone was suddenly fawning over Eros, eager to make their mark.
Yet, Eros seemed distant, his responses barely more than an absent. “Hmm.”
His eyes scanned the room, clearly searching for something or someone.
And then, it was Silas who made his way to Eros, practically bowing in eagerness.
“Mr. Ferrari, I’m the CEO of Armani Group,” he said, his voice full of desperation. “We sincerely hope to collaborate with Accetta Group.”
“I’ve prepared this proposal overnight. Please, take a look,” Silas said, his voice eager as he stepped forward.
I tried to rise, my body shaking as I reached out to Eros, desperate for his attention.
But Elvira’s hand slammed down onto my shoulder, forcing me back to the ground.
She shoved a filthy, foul–smelling rag into my mouth, her words sharp and venomous against my ear. “My husband’s in the middle of something important, Alora.”
She hissed, her breath hot against my skin. “Do you really have the gall to ask for money now? Have you no shame?”
“If you dare ruin his image, I’ll make sure you regret it.”
Silas handed the proposal to Eros with both hands, but Eros barely glanced at it.
With irritation clear in his voice, he said, “Not today. Let’s talk some other time. I’m not in the mood for business.”
Silas stood frozen, stunned and silent.
Eros looked anything but pleased, his discomfort radiating from him as he tried to hide his frustration with a strained smile.
But Eros didn’t spare him a second glance, his attention still fixed on the phone.
His voice was sharp as he barked orders at his assistant. “Why haven’t you reached Alora yet? What’s going on with this woman?”
The assistant, drenched in sweat, fumbled nervously. “I’ve called over ten different numbers, but they’re all turned off.”
Eros Ferrari’s patience snapped. “Then trace the damn signal! This is absurd. She’s always late and now her phone’s off?!”
There was a subtle undertone of frustration in his voice, one so faint that only the keenest would notice.

When Silas heard my name, his face shifted, a flicker of eagerness crossing his features. He leaned in, practically bursting with self–importance. “Mr. Ferrari, are you looking for Alora?”
Eros turned to Silas, his gaze cold, as if Silas had just interrupted a moment of rare peace. “What? Have you seen her?”
