He’d done so much for her, and she hoped to make his wishes come true.
“Does this suit look good on me, Quinn?” Gabriel ran to her happily, looking debonair in his tuxedo. He’d never been happier in
his life.
“Of course. You look good in everything.” She helped him tuck some flyaway hairs, her gaze tender and loving.
Nicholas hid in a comer of the store and watched them like a thief. He saw how happy Quinn was, and regret washed over him. If not for that one misstep, he would be the one standing with her.
On Quinn and Gabriel’s wedding day, Gabriel’s parents hurried back from abroad. Quinn and Gabriel exchanged rings as Steven

Nicholas watched this from off–stage. He downed glass after glass of liquor, but they did nothing to numb the pain in his heart. He couldn’t help being reminded of his and Quinn’s unfinished wedding as he watched her and Gabriel.
He vividly remembered how seriously she’d prepared for it–she’d verified every detail to make sure everything was perfect, only because she wanted them to have the best wedding.
It was too bad he’d ultimately lost the chance to be with her. He didn’t have the right to stand before her anymore.
After the ceremony was over, Nicholas left, swaying on his feet and reeking of alcohol. From that day onward, he seemed to disappear off the face of the earth. No one knew where he’d gone.
“Stand in the corner and reflect on your mistakes, Quinn! You, too, Gabriel!” Steven roared.

Quinn sighed as she faced the wall. Gabriel whispered, “I’m sorry for getting you into trouble again, Quinn. You can’t throw me under the bus, though.”
She shook her head helplessly and remained where she was. Meanwhile, Gabriel cried, “You can’t be so unreasonable, Grandpa!”
“I’ll kill you!” Steven snapped.
Quinn couldn’t help smiling as she listened to them bicker. This was the life she’d always wanted. It was wonderful.
