Jasmine was ultimately sentenced to prison for embezzlement, illegal fundraising, and other crimes. Nicholas visited her on her first day behind bars. He looked at her coldly.
“I wasn’t going to let you off so easily, so you should thank
ur lucky stars you cruded up in prison. Pray that you spend a few more years in there–I don’t know what I’d do to you otherwise,” he said.
His icy gaze made her hysterically shrick, “You knew that old fart was bad news all along, didn’t you? You deliberately made me
fall into his clutches!”
Nicholas had introduced Jasmine to a director before leaving Heathridge. She’d happily gone to meet the director, but the man had taken advantage of her.
She’d thought Nicholas had been in the dark about the whole thing, so she hadn’t dared to tell him about it after it had happened. She hadn’t wanted him to scom her. Only now did she realize he’d set her up!
“Of course. Did you think I would be kind enough to help you? I wouldn’t have lost Quinn if not for you!” Tears streamed down. Nicholas‘ face as he spoke. He’d learned about Quinn and Gabriel getting married shortly before visiting Jasmine.
He knew he would thoroughly lose Quinn after this, but he still marrying her and spending the rest of his life with her.
“I’ll wait for you to be released from prison, Jasmine,” he said.
