Stella called her just then. “Nicholas already knows where you are, Quinn. I heard he’s pushed all his work to someone else–he’s taking a flight to you in three days.”

Gabriel looked at Quinn glumly. “I didn’t expect him to do so much for you. You must be moved to bits now.”
He’d heard from Steven everything she’d done for Nicholas in the past.
“Why would I be moved? No matter how much he does, it won’t change the fact that he betrayed me,” Quinn said matter–of-
factly. She knew she had to face Nicholas sooner or later, though. He could come if he wanted to.
She went to get Gabriel a glass of water. When she returned, she saw him sitting on the couch with a silly smile on his face. She
had no idea why he was so happy. “What are you so pleased about?”
He took the glass and shook his head mischievously. “I’m not telling you.”
She shook her head helplessly and chuckled. “We’re almost done dealing with my business now. When are you going back?”
“Who said anything about leaving? I’m staying here to help Grandpa.”
She looked at him in surprise. “I thought you hated these things.”
“Things are different now. Remember to come to me for help if that guy cornes looking for you!” Gabriel said.
Quinn couldn’t help smiling at the sight of him hopping away happily. Perhaps this was the life that best suited her.
Nicholas‘ script caused a stir once it was released. He was confident Quinn would forgive him once she read it–she’d never been
able to remain mad at him, after all.
He carefully retrieved a copy of a magazine cover she’d done in the past and gently stroked her face. Just then, his office door was
pushed open roughly.
Jasmine stormed over to him, her eyes red. Her arm was injured. She cried, “Do you have to treat me like this, Nicholas? You know how much I love my career!”
“What about Quinn, then? If not for you stealing her role behind my back, she would still be by my side now. She gave up everything for me, but you made me give up on her for your sake.
“I’ve already been forgiving enough by not chasing you for compensation, Jasmine. It seems like you’re not satisfied with that, though. If that’s the case, you should leave and wait for my lawyer’s letter,” Nicholas said. He grabbed his things and got up to
leave.
She grabbed his arm as he brushed past her. “Help me once more, Nicholas. I’m begging you. All my gigs have been canceled- death is my only option if you don’t help me.”
She showed him her injured arm.
Was she using death to threaten him? He looked at her icily before sneering and saying, “Fine, then. I can help you.”
He sent one of her headshots to a director
ras she watched joyfully. He then said, “This is that director’s phone number. I’ve
utant him dieeth if you want the role.”

A cruel smile curved Nicholas‘ lips as he turned away. Jasmine had made him lose Quinn–he would destroy her as revenge!
