Then, he remembered the sorrow in her eyes and her soft chuckles after listening to his self–righteous accusations.

The scattered photos on the floor told her everything she needed to know.

But Rebecca crawled back, her eyes red–rimmed, her voice shaking. “Matty, I’m pregnant with your child! Please, for the baby’s sake, just let me go this once!”
But the man before her didn’t even spare her a glance. His tone was indifferent.
“Of course, I know you’re pregnant. But so what? It’s just a child. If I wanted one, I could have as many as I pleased.
“And besides, getting rid of the one you’re carrying now will make it easier for you to have that other man’s child later, won’t it?”
