Chapter 50 Done
In the study, Luke concluded his report and added a cautionary note. “Mr. King, at tonight’s auction, several acquaintances spotted you. And your extravagant spending may draw attention from the King household.”
Marcelo seemed unconcerned. “Am I not allowed to use my money?”
Luke hastened to correct himself, “Of course, you are.”
But it was unusual for Marcelo to be so lavish with his wealth.
Marcelo’s decision to bring Rence to the auction was bound to stir controversy, yet he did not care. The thought that these fools hadn’t suspected him for years amused Marcelo. It was high time they sensed some peril.
They couldn’t forever see him as a loser.
After all, only a quarry that reacts to danger truly intrigues predator.
A knock interrupted them, followed by Renee’s voice. “Marcelo, can I come in?”
At Marcelo’s nod, Luke opened the door.
“Mrs…” He paused, momentarily taken aback, then quickly averted his gaze.
Renee, just out of the bath, her beauty unadorned, stood there with damp hair falling over her shoulders. Her white silk robe accentuated her figure, catching anyone off guard.
Feeling Marcelo’s piercing look, Luke hastily excused himself. “I’ll leave you to it, Mr. King.”
Marcelo faced Renee, his expression unreadable.
Renee, realizing her attire might be too revealing, fidgeted nervously, running her fingers through her hair. “I came looking for you. I didn’t expect Luke here, and, well. I’m properly dressed underneath.”
His face remained impassive.
Did she think mentioning her proper undergarments would change anything?
“What do you want?” Marcelo reclined in his chair, his gaze settling on Renee..
Alone with him, her attire seemed strikingly appropriate.
“You…have you finished your work?“Renee hesitated briefly before asking.
Marcelo’s silent stare urged her to speak her mind.
“Well, I’ll leave you to your tasks,” Renee said, planning to exit and return later.
She wanted to chicken out now.
But as she turned, Marcelo spoke. “I’m done.”
“Just say what you have to say” was written all over his face
Renee thought to herself, shouldn’t he return to his room if he’s finished?
She then doubted he would welcome her in his bedroom.
“Click!” The door clicked shut as Renee locked the study.
Marcelo, raising an eyebrow, waited curiously for her next move.

Renee, trying to appear composed yet unable to mask her nervousness, approached Marcelo.
Her hand nervously touched the belt of her robe.
With a quick lip bite, her heart raced with unease.

Marcel, with his innate Instincts as a man, often had a keen sense of premonition. Moreover, he was no stranger to the attention of women who sought his favor.
He quickly discerned her underlying intentions.
Yet he didn’t intervene, silently observing, a hint of intrigued amusement in his demeanor.
The plush carpet muffled any sound as the robe’s belt dropped.
In an instant, Renee let her bathrobe fall, revealing her figure.
Her skin glowed softly.
Her neck was slender, her waist narrow enough to encircle with one hand, and her legs elegantly long. Even her fingernails had a delicate, polished appearance.
Her form seemed a masterpiece of nature, captivatingly perfect, stirring both visual admiration…and a more primal longing.
“Renee, what are you doing?” Marcelo’s voice remained steady.
Internally, he felt an unusual dryness in his throat.
He preferred the air conditioning at seventy–two degrees Fahrenheit, which caused Renee a slight chill.
With a feigned calmness, she approached his desk.
Resting a hand on the desk, she clarified, “I’m here as Mrs. King.”
Her slight movements caused the thin fabric to shift tantalizingly.
In mere seconds, Marcelo was beside her, his hand on her waist, leaning in.
Her upper body pressed against the desk, she felt a cold object on her back. Was that his pen? “Here? Really?” he asked, his breath warm against her face.
His closeness felt almost overbearing-
Renee fought the urge to turn away, maintaining her composure.
“If this is where you want it, that’s fine.” Recognizing her initiative, Marcelo gave her a choice. “Are you sure?” “Let’s go to the bedroom,” she quickly amended.
It wasn’t that the idea was unappealing, but for her first time having sex…in a study seemed too audacious.
It was too thrilling.
In a way, a bed offered a feeling of safety.
Marcelo’s chuckle broke the silence.
Renee’s duplicity amused him.
“Ah!”

Suddenly, she felt herself lifted off the desk. Marcelo had picked her up.
“My bathrobe…” she said, one arm around his neck while she reached for her robe with the other.
The distance from the study to the bedroom wasn’t short.
Marcelo seemed unconcerned. “No one will dare look at you”
The staff wouldn’t venture upstairs without his permission
“I want my bathrobe! What if…”
What if someone saw her?
What would they think?
Did he not have any shame?

Marcelo, seemingly indifferent to modesty, wrapped his coat around her and carried her out. Clutching the fabric to her chest, Renee appeared nervous, as if fearing being caught doing something bad.
When he didn’t stop at her room, she queried, “Are we…going to your bedroom?”
d you rather we use yours?”
Disdain was evident in his tone.
Renee’s room, a secondary bedroom, couldn’t compare to Marcelo’s master suite.
“I just thought you wouldn’t want anyone in your room.” Lowering her gaze, she noticed the subtle jacquard pattern on his white shirt and the mother–of–pearl buttons a blend of understatement and opulence.
Marcelo then tossed her lightly in his arms, as if amused by her comment.
Her body momentarily airborne, she instinctively clung to his neck, exclaiming, “Hey!”
A low chuckle reached her ears, hinting at Marcelo amusement.
Renee wondered if she had misheard.
“You’ve been in my room before,” Marcelo reminded her, “and in my bed too.”
She had once ended up in his bed after a night of drunken antics.
At the memory, Renee felt a mix of embarrassment and regret.
Alcohol really did complicate things.
Marcelo almost tossed Renee onto the enormous bed, but the plush mattress cushioned her fall. Quickly, he was over her, his tall frame casting a shadow, replacing the coat that had enveloped her.
“Are you nervous?”
This was a new side of Renee for Marcelo, and his curiosity was piqued.
Renee’s knowledge of men in such moments was limited to romantic movies and TV shows.
Marcelo’s teasing demeanor was unlike any scripted scene
He was composed, while she was anxious and timid, feeling vulnerable.

The more she thought about it, the more determined she became. With one hand bracing against the bed and the other around Marcelo’s neck, she initiated a kiss.
“Who’s nervous now?” she challenged,
Marcelo, momentarily taken aback, quickly responded. His kiss was overpowering, leaving no room for her to withdraw.
The heat from his body was intense, each kiss sending a shlyer through her.
But every time he would suck on her tongue, she felt a wave of nervousness that caused her body to tremble.
This emotion, however, didn’t stay long, and was soon overwhelmed a by fervent kiss.
Renee’s thoughts were scattered, her actions driven by a competitive urge. She began to unbutton his shirt, intent on being quicker.
Her hand carelessly knocked his expensive watch to the floor.
The sound of it falling on the floor echoed in the room.
