The traffickers in Dortmund sent Nathan a video of Mom being tortured, demanding money in exchange for her release.
In the footage, she was beaten so badly that her face was unrecognizable, her body covered in blood. But even in that state, she
kept cursing Trinity, saying she deserved to die. In between, she even muttered about missing me.
Nathan slowly exhaled a ring of smoke and responded lazily, “Carve out both of her kidneys, and I’ll pay you.‘
A shiver ran down my spine as I watched the bloodthirsty look in Nathan’s eyes.
Then, I smiled.
He had no idea my dear little sister had an even bigger surprise in store for him.
Nathan hadn’t been to work in days. Every night, he drank himself into oblivion, clutching my urn and calling my name.
It was disgusting.
I hovered around him for a while, watching, until Jake finally yanked him off the floor, his voice urgent. “Mr. Heath, we have a
situation! Confidential company documents have been leaked. Our project’s been blocked, and our competitors now have access
to our core technology. It’s over!”
Nathan was too drunk to process anything. By the time he sobered up, it was already too late.
Trinity had handed over Heath Group’s confidential files and proprietary technology to Nathan’s biggest rival.
Nathan had poured an astronomical amount of money into the project, and now everything was falling apart. The company’s
cash flow was in crisis.
It didn’t bankrupt Heath Group outright, but it damn sure stripped them to the bone.
Nathan was drowning in work, scrambling to fix the mess. For the first time in weeks, he was too busy to hold my urn and make
me sick.
That night, as Nathan was about to drive home, Trinity ambushed him from the backseat. She knocked him unconscious and
dragged him to an abandoned warehouse.
When he woke up, he struggled against the restraints, only to realize he was tied up, completely immobilized.
His eyes burned with fury as he gritted his teeth and snarled, “Have you lost your mind? Let me go!”
Trinity’s laugh was unhinged. “Oh, I lost my mind a long time ago. And guess what? You drove me there! You threw me out of the hospital, left me with no money, and ruined my recovery.
“Now, my kidney’s failing, my body’s falling apart. I don’t even want to live anymore! Before I die, I’m taking you with me.”
