With Evangeline’s deliberate manipulation, Murphy quickly assumed that Gemma had left home out of spite.
Anger flared within him. “She ran away over something so trivial? She’s out of control!”
Seeing how furious Murphy was, Evangeline felt a surge of joy, though she maintained a facade of concern. Furrowing her brows
together, she said worriedly, “Why would Gemma be so impulsive? Murphy, she can’t have gone far. You should send someone to look for her immediately!
“The world is so dangerous these days. A young girl like her could be in serious trouble out there!”
Murphy’s expression darkened. “A young girl? She’s already 18!”
In Haroland, 18 was considered the age of adulthood.
As an adult, Gemma should be responsible for her actions. But she was still as impulsive and reckless as ever, showing no signs of
growth.
Thinking of this, Murphy’s barely contained anger reignited, burning hotter than before. His expression hardened as he said
coldly, “If she doesn’t want to come back, then let her stay out there! Pass on my orders–no one is to search for her!”
This declaration filled Evangeline with glee.
Finally, she had managed to get rid of the troublesome Gemma. She was now one step closer to officially becoming Murphy’s
rightful wife.
However, despite his harsh words, Murphy eventually softened.
