He wandered around the house like he owned the place.
It had been ten years since I had seen Daniel, and I was not even sure what he used to be like back then. However, we had agreed to work together, and I was not about to back out.
Daniel stayed at my house, and we set our wedding date for early March.
Oddly enough, Jeffrey, who had always seemed to hate me, showed up out of the blue.
He was not acting like his old self, and the look of disgust was gone from his eyes. He looked tired and had a bruise under his eye.
It seemed he had been through a lot.
Daniel was now the heir to the Graham family fortune, and it was only natural for Jeffrey to be a little upset.
As memories of my previous life flooded my heart, I was ready to walk away.
However, he stopped me with an outstretched hand.

“Why did you pick Daniel? You haven’t seen him in ten years. Do you even know what he’s like now? Ella, even if you’re out to get
back at me, this isn’t the way to do it.”
He acted like he cared about me, but I knew better. He just wanted to take over Graham Group, which was why he did what he did
at the airport back then too.
I looked at him with icy eyes. “Jeffrey, you’re giving yourself too much credit. I chose Daniel because I like him. You? If you hadn’t
comforted me and given me hope when I was 15, I wouldn’t have wasted all those years going after you.
“In the last two years, you’ve embarrassed me over and over for Sophie’s sake, making me the laughing stock among our friends.
I’ve paid the price of having feelings for you. Now, you’re nothing to me but a pile of trash. You’re no different from a stranger.”
My frosty gaze sent a wave of panic through Jeffrey. He frowned, confused and upset.
“What are you talking about? Fifteen years old? Ella, what are you saying? Don’t you like me? Didn’t you say I was the only one for
you? What’s this about being 15? Who do you think I am?”
He gripped my arm, his voice filled with anger.
I faced his sudden outburst with calm. “When I was 15, Bobby died, and I was devastated. Weren’t you the one who sent me gifts
and notes, telling me he had just gone to another world and that I shouldn’t be sad? Have you really forgotten all that?”
Bobby was my dog and companion for five years until someone cruelly poisoned him.
For the longest time, I was trapped in sadness, and nobody could pull me out of it.
However, one day at Bobby’s grave, I found presents and a little note. I had no clue who left them, and that mystery went on for
weeks. One day, I got there early and caught Jeffrey by the grave.
