didn’t change the past, and life didn’t offer do–overs.
A woman had been watching him. Long wavy hair, seductive eyes–someone who knew how to navigate bars like this. She picked
up her drink and walked toward him.
Grayson was famous–not just for his wealth, but for his unwavering devotion. He had never let another woman near him, not
even at social gatherings. But now, the world knew the truth. The wedding scandal had laid everything bare.
Grayson had been unfaithful.
Women despised him for it. But some saw an opportunity.
She was one of them.
She was confident in her beauty, in her curves. She leaned forward, offering him a glass.
“Mr. Warhol, care for a drink?”
He didn’t even look at her. His voice was cold, detached.
“Get lost.”
Her smile faltered, but she wasn’t ready to give up.
“Mr. Warhol, your girlfriend has been gone for quite a while now-”
The words barely left her lips before his hand shot out, fingers tightening around her throat. His eyes were bloodshot.
“I don’t want to hear those words again.”
She gasped, struggling, her earlier confidence vanishing in an instant. Desperately, she pleaded, and finally, he let go. His face
was icy as he watched her cough and gasp for air.
“Get lost.”
She stumbled away, not daring to look back.
Grayson staggered out of the bar, walking aimlessly through the empty streets. He kept murmuring her name.
“Violet, I know I was wrong. Please come back. I can’t live without you. How could you be so cruel, leaving me behind?”
Perhaps fate had taken pity on him.
On a giant screen overhead, a breaking news report flashed. And in the footage, he saw a face he would recognize anywhere.
