Chapter 33
The footsteps grew louder, and soon a tall man strode into the room.
“Nicole, are these the things?” Alexander asked, one hand in his pocket, the other pointing at the small mountain of clothes and shoes piled on the sofa.
“Yes, everything’s there. Will your car be able to fit it all?” Nicole worried her belongings might be too much for Alexander’s car.
Alexander smiled gently, his voice remarkably pleasant. “Of course! This little bit will easily fit in the trunk.”
Nicole sighed with relief. “That’s good.”
Alexander then noticed Nicole’s bandaged arm. Frowning, be quickly approached her and carefully examined her wound, saying anxiously, “I’ll take you to the hospital right after this to get this checked and rebandaged.”
“This was already treated at the hospital. It’s fine–I’m a doctor myself. I can take care of it when I get home.”
“No way. It’ll be too difficult for you to handle it yourself. I help you later!”
Listening to Alexander and Nicole’s conversation as if he weren’t even there, Travis felt a towering rage building in his chest. He walked over to Nicole and yanked her behind him, using his body to block Alexander’s view of her. “What’s this? Getting all lovey–dovey right in front of me? Am I dead to you?”
“Travis, you asshole! Let go of me!”
This time when he grabbed her, Nicole’s wound tore open completely.
Bright red blood had already seeped through the bandage, spreading and soaking the white gauze.
She had planned to pack quickly and leave quickly.
But she had underestimated just how nasty Travis could be
This man wouldn’t rest until he had completely exhausted her.
Enduring the intense pain, she broke free from his grip and returned to Alexander’s side.
Alexander immediately shielded her behind his large hand. ‘Don’t worry. I’m here. I won’t let this man hurt you.”
Nicole was in agony. Her torn wound sent sharp pain shooting through every sensitive nerve with the slightest
movement.
With a pale face, she thanked Alexander.
“It doesn’t matter anymore. I just want to leave this place as quickly as possible.”
This was Nicole’s honest feeling.
Her head was spinning, and everything before her eyes shifted between clarity and blur.
And of all times, her blood sugar had to drop now,
The middle–aged man in a well–tailored suit entered with steady steps and bowed to Alexander. “Sir, the items?”
“Yes, take them downstairs and put them in the trunk,” Alexander instructed his personal assistant.
“Yes, Sir.”

The assistant bowed slightly again, then skillfully gathered the clothes from the sofa and left the room with them. Alexander asked Nicole, “Check if there’s anything else we missed, so we can take everything in one go.” Nicole glanced around and shook her head. She was too weak to speak now and could only lean softly against Alexander’s shoulder.
Seeing how unsteady she was, Alexander simply scooped her up in his arms. “I’m taking you out of here now.”
“Stop right there!”
Seeing Nicole in Alexander’s arms, Travis was livid. He quickly stepped in front of them, blocking their way.
Alexander raised an eyebrow, his eyes behind his glasses turning cold.
“Mr. Graham, haven’t you always despised Nicole? You should be thanking me for taking her away. Why are you stopping us? Don’t tell me you can’t bear to part with her?”
Travis slowly lowered his outstretched arms, his gaze falling on Nicole in Alexander’s arms. “How could I possibly miss this woman? I just think she’s had it too easy, eating and drinking at my expense and then just walking away. She should at least keep me company for a few days!”
Alexander immediately narrowed his eyes dangerously. He raised his leg and delivered a swift kick to Travis’s stomach. “You trash! You’re already divorced. If you dare touch her again, I’ll destroy you! You didn’t treasure Nicole before this time, it’s my turn!”
Travis, who had recently undergone minimally invasive surgery and hadn’t fully recovered, crashed against the door frame from the impact. Clutching his stomach in pain, he groaned for quite a while before finally spitting out, “Even if we’re divorced, we’ve known each other for over twenty years. All I have to do is beckon her, and she’ll come crawling back like a dog!”
